Polling disrupted for an hour at four polling booths

The polling for the lone LS seat seat in Chandigarh was disrupted for nearly an hour at four polling booths following a technical snag in the EVMs.

The polling for the lone Lok Sabha seat in Chandigarh was disrupted for nearly an hour at four polling booths in the city following a technical snag in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

The polling was affected in Darua, Bapu Dham colony, sector 15 and sector nine, official sources said here.

According to the sources the machines developed snag due to locking after a mock poll exercise. However, the fault was rectified and polling re-commenced soon.

The polling in rural areas in the Union Territory is brisk as compared to urban areas, official sources said.
