President sends sweets and food items to 500 orphan kids on Eid

President Pratibha Patil on Saturday sent sweets and food items to 500 orphan children across the national capital on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

President Pratibha Patil on Saturday sent sweets and food items to 500 orphan children across the national capital on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Packets containing ghee, sugar, dal and rice were dispatched to orphanages like 'Bachhon Ka Ghar' at Jama Masjid, Madrasa Islamia located at Nizamuddin and Zakaat foundation at Okhla on behalf of the President to the children residing here, a Rashtrapati Bhavan official said.

The President also sent her good wishes to these children and sent greetings for their "well being".

Patil was also greeted by a group of 100 women at the President's House who presented her with traditional sweets on the occasion of Eid.
