The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) election manifesto for Harayana assembly polls that was released Tuesday has promises for all sections of the society, while the party urged the voters to offer it an opportunity to rule the state.
"Haryana has seen governments of all parties. Now the BJP should be given a chance this time," BJP leader Vijay Goel, who is the party's in-charge for Haryana, told reporters here.
In its election manifesto, the BJP promised a 12 percent growth rate in the state and laid emphasis on the water, power and health needs of the people.
The manifesto promises to build houses for slum-dwellers, introduce an insurance policy for those living below poverty line and a Rs. 15,000 compensation per hectare of farm land affected by natural calamities.
"We are not like the Congress, which had a government of promises, announcements and scams," Goel said.
BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who released the manifesto here, said price rise, "poor governance" of the Congress and the state's "lop-sided development" would be the main issues in the Oct 13 election for 90 assembly seats.
The BJP, which had played second fiddle to state parties earlier, including the main opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), is going it alone in the elections.

{{/usCountry}}"It is necessary that the party should contest on all seats. The effort is to increase our vote bank by a big margin. We believe that the party's full strength and its support should come together," Jaitley added.
In the previous assembly, the BJP had only one legislator.
