According to the police, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Punjab police arrested Ram Lubhaya and Baljit Singh Tuesday night and also recovered around Rs 150,000 from them. They were involved in betting on the Pakistan-Australia one-day international cricket match on January 31.

"Following a tip-off from our source, we arrested the duo when Lubhaya was going to deliver the money to Baljit Singh. They also have links with cricket bookies of other states and we are hoping to make more arrests after their interrogation," a senior official of the Punjab police said here on Wednesday.

He added, "They were also alluring gullible youth of the locality into gambling and betting. Our investigation is on and we may raid more places to unearth more such rackets, flourishing in the region."
