Rabri hails Rail Budget, says it is the best

The Bihar Chief Minister said she was confident that Laloo Prasad would transform Indian Railways into the best in the world.

Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Tuesday hailed the Budget presented by Railway Minister Laloo Prasad as the best ever by any government and said it was prepared keeping in mind the interests of all the sections of society.

"Not not only Bihar, but all parts of the country, which needed expansion of Railways will benefit from the budget. This is the best Budget ever presented by a railway minister," she said responding to queries of the reporters who had thronged her residence since noon when Laloo began his Budget speech.

Rabri, who remained glued to her TV set all through the nearly two-hour speech, said she indeed had assisted her husband in preparing the people-friendly document.

"Haa, hamne kahathan ki kiraya aur nahi badhaiye" (Yes, I had advise him not to raise fare), she said when asked if she had given the tips to the RJD boss.

Rabri Devi said she was confident that Laloo Prasad would transform Indian Railways into the best in the world. Asked if she wanted more for Bihar in the Budget, she said " We have got enough. Still is more is needed, we will seek it."

On crime on the running trains, she said she had suggested the Railway Minister to augment security and assured that her government will extend all help in his endeavour to make journey by train safer.

Asked if the Budget will help Bihar's ruling RJD in getting votes in the assembly elections due next year, she retorted saying, "Jo achha kam karega wo jitega. Election ka Budget se koi lena dena nahi hai".(The one who does good work he will win. The Budget has nothing to do with elections.
