By the time many of them looked in disbelief at each other after coming to know about this stark reality Rahul was back on the road in his car to Amethi from where he had come on a surprise visit to Anand Bhawan. Captain Satish Sharma, Robert Vadra- his sister's husband and Vadra's friend were with him during the visit to city of Sangam.

With the SPG following him closely in another vehicle Rahul went to Swaraj Bhawan first at 1.50 pm. After staying there for sometime he walked towards Anand Bhawan which is in close proximity and is inter-connected with Swaraj Bhawan. By this time it was clear that Rahul was purely on a private visit to this city and was in no mood to be noticed by anybody not even the media.

owever, some visitors at the Anand Bhawan noticed him when he was reportedly explaining something to Vadra's friend and showing him the place where his grand mother late Indira Gandhi got married.

A group of visitors who wanted his autograph was kept at bay by the SPG men. Later, Rahul told the enthusiastic group, ''main abhineta nahi neta hoon, ashirvaad dijiye''. After spending about 50 minutes within the precincts of the historic Anand Bhawan Rahul and the other three left for the Kamla Nehru Memorial Hospital where he reportedy met the staff and members of the management committee. He also received a number of complaints against the management.

A few patients also reportedly complained to Rahul that the hospital was charging more for medicines than its price in the market. Some employees also reportedly raised slogans against the honorary secretary Inder Khosla.
Rahul is reported to have assured the complainants to keep a tab over goings-on in the hospital. At 3.20 pm he left the place.

Rahul, it may be mentioned, had been campaigning for his mother and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi who is seeking re-election from Rae Bareli following her resignation on the issue of holding office of profit
as MP.
