Railway minister Mukul Roy on Tuesday said the Indian Railways is ready to provide employment to the next of the kin of those killed in the rail mishap at Penakonda in Andhra Pradesh.
"It is a very sad incident. Life is very precious. If anybody (kin) wants to join the railways, we will provide him or her with jobs," he told reporters at Bengaluru International Aiport en route to the accident spot.
"Railways is trying to introduce TPW (Train Protection warning) system. It is the most advanced system. Rescue and relief operations are already on," he said.
Minister of state for railways KH Muniyappa is accompanying Roy along with a team of Railway officials.
Twenty five passengers were killed and over 40 injured when the Bangalore-bound Hampi Express rammed into a stationary goods train in Anantapur district in the wee hours.
