Bollywood star Salman Khan on Friday appeared in a local court in a Chinkara poaching case of 1998 in which he was awarded a suspended prison sentence and furnished a bail bond and surety of Rs one lakh.
Chief Judicial Magistrate BK Jain verified receipt of the actor's personal bail bond of Rs 50,000 and a surety of a similar amount in the case relating to poaching of Chinkara deer in Bhavad village in the district in September 1998.
Jain adjourned the hearing in the Ghora farm poaching case to March 24 on account of Salman's lawyer being indisposed.
The CJM had on February 17 convicted Salman to a year in the case sentencing him for killing an endangered animal but gave him a month's time to appeal.
Salman also produced the orders of Jodhpur District and Sessions Judge Yashpal Choudhary staying the CJM's sentence till a decision on the appeal filed by him on March 10 was taken.

The counsel of the five co-accused Pratap Singh, Tulaji Angre, Om Singh, Govardhan Singh and Dushyant Singh argued in the court but the CJM adjourned the hearing to March 24 on account of Sarswat being unwell. MORE
The Chinkara poaching cases of September 26 and 28 were registered under Mathania police station of the district.
The CJM's court found Salman guilty of killing two Chinkara in Bhavad village area but acquitted seven other accused including Satish Shah.
