Condemned to death for his alleged involvement in four bomb blasts in Pakistan in 1990, Sarabjit's mercy petition has been rejected by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

"Reports have come regarding the rejection of Sarabjit's mercy plea and we are desperate to know the exact facts."

"As soon as I meet the prime minister, I will urge him to take up the case with Pakistan at the earliest as the fate of our entire family was at stake," said Dalbir.

Sukhpreet Kaur, wife of Sarabjit Singh, said, "My husband is innocent. The Pakistan government is putting the cases of some Manjit Singh on him. The name of my husband is Sarabjit Singh and the Pakistan Government should leave him."

"I also appeal to Manmohan Singh to ensure his release at the earliest," she said.

I will appeal to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf that the way he has given freedom to Kashmir Singh, the same treatment should be given to Sarabjit Singh.
