Sarangi was deposing as a defence witness in the Pramod Mahajan murder trial. Pravin, late BJP leader's younger brother, is accused of shooting the latter.

The prosecution had submitted in court that Pravin had sent the threatening SMS to Pramod.

However, during her deposition Sarangi denied the contention of the prosecution and said it was she who had sent an SMS at the behest of Pravin, as he had asked for an appointment with Pramod.

She did not tell anybody about this SMS, she claimed.

In another development, prosecution applied for getting Pramod's mobile handset examined by a forensic laboratory at Hyderabad.

Hearing of the case has been adjourned till November 28.
