Former Romanian world champion Silvia Stroescu was deeply disappointed after she was dropped from the Olympic squad.

The 19 year old has started considering retirement after the Olympic squad was announced. She was the member of the Romanian women's team that won gold at the 2001 world championships.
But the Romanian coach justified the teams selection saying that his squad selection was made taking into consideration results from the latest international contests against France, England and Spain.
