There is need to cement Bollywood-Lollywood ties through screening of Indian and Pakistani films in each other's country, Union Minister Ambika Soni said in Wagah on Wednesday.
Film producers from both countries should interact more to boost Lollywood (Lahore Film Industry) and Bollywood, the Tourism and Culture Minister told reporters here before crossing over to Pakistan.
"During my Pakistan's visit, I will request Lollywood film producers to organise screening of films in India to boost the industry on both sides," she said.
Soni said her Ministry and the Punjab Tourism and Culture Department were making efforts to promote tourism in Amritsar.
On opening of a visa centre in the holy city, she said "this is needed to make Amritsar-Lahore and Amritsar-Nanakana Sahib bus services successful."
"My Ministry has already approached Foreign and Home Ministries in this regard," Soni said.
Soni along with Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Shukla went to Pakistan to attend the formal launch of Bollywood production Taj Mahal in Lahore.
