UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi would declare open the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Research Institute at Kadirkamam near here on September 18.
She would declare open the government sponsored Women and Child Hospital at Ellaipillaichavady on the same day.

Chief Minister V Vaithilingam said the sanctioned student strenght of the collge was 150 out of which 22 seats would be earmarked for the NRI candidates.
Health Minister E Valsaraj said the college would offer free education for the first MBBS batch of students.
