Surinam envoy?s call to boost trade ties

SURINAM ENVOY Krishna Dutta Baijnath called upon the people of the district to visit Surinam as part of strengthening business ties between the two countries.
He was speaking at a function organised by Rotary club Midtown yesterday. The envoy laid stress on the need for Indian entrepreneurs’ participation in boosting business ties between the two countries.
“I welcome the people of Varanasi to my country,” he said to the gathering, He added: “Surinam is rich in flora and fauna and minerals. Thus, the traders of India should visit the country,” Baijnath said. He said he was happy to be here.
Ajai Singh, chairman Indo-Global Chamber of Commerce also spoke on the occasion and exhorted the exporters and belonging to different segments of the society to visit Surinam for exploring better business opportunities.
The Surinam ambassador expressed his view while performing a Vedic Yagya at Gayatri Shakti Peeth here in Varanasi on Friday. He was accompanied by Senior surgeon Dr Rohit Gupta, president of Rotary Midtown and senior Nuro-surgeon Dr BD Tiwari, Ashutosh Dwivedi, Dr Agi Bhardwaj and Prof Vindhyachal Singh during the yagya. “I feel that I am with my roots here,” he said and added.
