Three die after being hit by train at Shahad

Three people died on the spot when a Gorakhpur Superfast Express hit them while they were crossing the railway tracks at Shahad railway station.

Police inspector AR Jagtap, GRP, Kalyan said the incident took place around 12am. The deceased have been identified as Sumaiyya Imraan Shahnur Kureshi, 25, and her son Abuja Imraan Kureshi, 7. The third man who died while trying to save the mother and son was identified as Soham Sheikh from Mumbra.

The police said Sumaiyya had come from Ahmednagar to spend the summer vacations with her parents who live in Shahad. The bodies were taken to Rukamnibai Hospital at Kalyan for post-mortem.
