Sandeep (46kg), Namit Bahadur (50kg) and Shiva Thapa (52kg) outplayed their opponents to assure India three medals in the event.

Gaurav Bidhuri (48kg) was the only Indian to bow out, losing his quarterfinal bout to Bagdat Uaidayev of Kazakhstan 8-4.

Sandeep put up a dominating display to outpunch Aliaksei Hohleu of Belarus 11-3. He will meet Javlonbek Eshmativ of Uzbekistan, who thrashed Chrisostomos Handjidimitrou of Cyprus 8-2.

Thapa had Israel's Makhlin Stanislav at the receiving end with a flurry of punches in the first round, forcing the referee to stop the contest.

Thapa will face Kazakhstan's Yerbolat Seidalliyev, who got the better of Carlos Chaves of the US 5-4.

Namit prevailed in a tough duel against Turkey's Bulut Haykir 7-5 and set up a semi-final bout with another Kazakhstan boxer, Talgat Bertleuov, who won after Kim Hae Jin of South Korea retired in round two.
