A player from the United States Olympic volleyball team was arrested in a state of drunkenness in central Athens on Monday after a pregnant woman accused him of aggressing her, police said.

The player, whose identity has not been officially revealed, will appear in court later in the day on charges of aggressing the 26-year old pregnant Greek-American in the early hours on Monday following the closing ceremony.
The player was identified by private television station Star as Clayton Stanley, 26, who plays for Greek team Panathinaikos Athens.
The woman has not suffered any serious injuries and the circumstances of the attack are as yet unknown.
