Claiming that waves favouring the NDA were sweeping the country, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday accused the UPA of indulging in votebank politics and of adopting anti-people policies.
The UPA repealed POTA, is not hanging Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru because it feels that a particular community would be angered, Naidu told reporters here adding there were some UPA allies that openly supported banned outfits like SIMI.
Terming the UPA government's anti-terror initiative of setting up a National Investigation Agency as "too little, too late", Naidu said if the BJP comes to power it would introduce a stringent law to deal with any kind of terrorism.
The BJP national committee conference would be held in Nagpur from February 6-8 and selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls would be complete by the end of the month, Naidu said.
Senior BJP leader L K Advani would address a public meeting in Rayalseema in February while Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would participate in a rally at Karimnagar on February 21 as part of the party's 'Vijaya Sankalp Yatra', Naidu added.
