Talking to reporters here Togadia said the Muslim community should be excluded from benefits of development taking place in India because this community did not believe in the uniformity of law.

Continuing his tirade, he claimed that Muslim organisations had issued directives to their community members to increase population and get reservation. “If the Indian government tried to give reservations to Muslims, interest of Hindus would be adversely affected” he feared.

On the question of Mohammad Afzal Guru’s clemency petition, Togadia said the President should not have accepted the petition because legally mercy petitions of only those persons can be admitted who accepted Supreme Court verdict. In this case, Guru did not accept the SC verdict.

Moreover, he did not file a review petition before the SC, he added. Togadia said Farooq Abdullah and Ghulam Nabi Azad’s opposition to the death sentence for Guru was uncalled for and action should be taken against them. Togadia demanded that Guru should be hanged immediately otherwise the VHP would start a nationwide agitation.

The VHP would organise its third conference at Allahabad to discuss the issues like establishing a Hindu nation, terrorism, and spurt in Muslim population. Workers from over one-lakh villages and 100 countries will take part in it, he added.
