Victoria’s Secret unveiled its new collection of lingerie with a $3 million Harlequin Fantasy Bra, at its much anticipated fashion show in New York this week. It showed off the top trends in inner wear for Fall/Winter 09. Watch out for:
* Vintage styling, as seen in many women’s fashion weeks, has now made its way to lingerie. The high-waisted and fitted briefs with big, frilly ruffles and bows, with basques and corsets are the fad this season.
* Pink and turquoise are the highlight colours this season. Where cheeky brands for teenaged girls are going for brighter colours, the mainstream labels for older women have toned it down with soft hues and accessorised it with lace and frills.
* Stylish oriental floral prints is another trend this season. While classic animal prints remain relevant, floral feature prominently.
* Retro styling, as seen on the streets of the fashion capitals, has been borrowed by lingerie makers, and you will find pop art prints on bras and panties in the stores.
