Woman?s body found near place of worship

RECOVERY of the body of a woman, around 21 years of age, from Panna Lal Road near a place of worship sent shockwaves in the area on Sunday morning. The unidentified woman had been strangulated, as was clearly visible from the black marks on her neck. Although the autopsy could not be carried out today, but circumstances indicated that the woman had been raped before being killed.

SP City RPS Yadav said some people had seen a three- wheeler from which the body was tossed on the road. The three-wheeler came from the SRN hospital side and turned towards Colonelganj. The woman was wearing pink trousers. Police found Rs 1150 in her pocket.

He said efforts were being made for the identification of the girl as nothing else was found on her person which could give them any lead.

Sources said, a morning walker first spotted the body and informed the police. The wouman was wearing a black kurta with beads and pink pair of trousers. She was also wearing a pair of sandals and artificial ear rings.

S-I dies of malaria: Girja Shankar Dwivedi, a sub inspector posted at Bara police station, was found dead early this morning. Sources said his death was caused due to malaria. Station officer Bara Anjani Kumar Singh confirmed death due to malaria. His body was taken to his hometown Sultanpur for cremation.

Body identified: The body of a man, recovered by police after he reportedly jumped off the Shastri Bridge, under Daraganj police station on Friday, was identified on Sunday. According to police, the man was identified as Jairam Gupta (70) of Mahabeeran Ki Gali under Mutthiganj police station . His grandson Deepak said Jairam owned a snacks and paan shop on Hewitt Road, under the Kotwali police station, and was mentally disturbed for some time. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Injured: Naresh Singh (28) of Rewa district in MP was admitted to the SRN Hospital with serious burn injuries on Sunday. According to reports, he received a shock while connecting electric wire on a transformer near his home. His condition was critical.

In another incident, Shrawan (12) of Soraon fell off the roof of his home while flying a kite on Saturday evening. He sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the SRN Hospital.
