Woman’s murder cracked: Youth, girlfriend arrested

The Crime branch has solved the blind murder case of Shobha (50), wife of Prakash Chouhan, resident of 1000, Krishnabagh Colony, which took place on May 23. A youth and his girlfriend have been arrested in this connection.

ASP Crime Dilip Soni said that Shobha had been strangulated to death with a piece of cloth.

During investigations they came to know that a number of young boys and girls came to Shoba’s house.

ASI Amit Dixit and ASI Uma Shankar Yadav received information that a young man and a girl had come to meet Shobha on a motorcycle (Discover) before she was murdered.The police came to know that one Shivam Tiwari (21) owned a Discover bike and he knew Shobha. Police found out that Shivam worked as a driver with a private travels.

Police questioned Shivam and he confessed to the murder.He said that he and his girlfriend had gone to visit Shobha on the day of the murder.They entered into an argument and Shivam pushed Shobha who fell down.But when she started shouting, Shivam fearing that neighbours would come and beat them, strangulated her to death with a towel that was lying nearby.

They took the gold tops, anklets and other ornaments that Shobha was wearing and fled to Shirdi.They sold some of the ornaments there and the remaining stolen goods have been recovered from them.
