An irate group of about 35 women bypassed security entered YMC President Hussain Shaikh's office, brought his chair onto the road and set it on fire yesterday, police said here today.

Water levels in Yeola's Ganga Sagar tank have reduced considerably and the region is facing acute driking water shortage and women have to walk great distances, police said.

A morcha planned by the women had been cancelled in view of prevention orders in the wake of impending elections and the women after submitting a memorandum to YMC's chief officer J M Dhakare, barged into Shaikh's office and set his chair on fire.
