After a long period of negligence, the MY Hospital administration has admitted that rodents and termites are spreading diseases among patients here.

Divisional commissioner Sanjay Dubey accepted that a number of patients are getting infected due to the presence of rodents, pests and other vectors in the hospital. He was holding a weekly review meeting at MGM Medical college on Monday.
Asking the management to ensure that pest control is carried out in the hospital, Dubey pointed out several cases wherein infection was caused to the patients owing to the presence of these rodents.
"Termite, cockroaches and rats are a huge menace. There have been cases when the patients were admitted to the hospital for some reason but got infected with an entirely different disease, owing to the presence of these vectors," said a doctor at MY Hospital on conditions of anonymity.
Meanwhile, a decision to shift patients for the rennovation work of the hospital is yet to be taken. While a temporary shift is being voted for, the plan for pest control of the entire campus will be done before renovation begins.
The hospital management plans to invite agencies to survey the hospital and estimate the cost of pest control.
