The college student had shared a photograph on Facebook showing a morphed face of the chief of RSS, the ideological parent of BJP in power at Centre and state, on the body of a woman wearing tight-fitting trousers. The arrest was followed by a complaint lodged at the Kotma police station, Anuppur, on Thursday evening by Bajrang Dal and VHP activists.

“We have booked the accused, Danish Mohammad, a resident of Kotma, under section 153 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 66 (A) of the Information Technology Act,” said Sunil Gupta, SHO, Kotma police station.

The post was meant to ridicule the RSS’s recent decision to switch from shorts to trousers. Police said the accused was arrested on Friday night from Chhattisgarh and sent to jail. “Danish’s father works at a company in Kotma while Danish is studying ITI from a local college,” Gupta said. This is the second incident in MP in the last week. On Wednesday, Khargone police arrested two people for allegedly posting a morphed image of Bhagwat on social media. The duo was allegedly mocking the Sangh’s decision to switch from its trademark khaki shorts to brown trousers.
