Pranab expresses condolence to AMRI victims

Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday visited the SSKM Hospital where the autopsy of those killed in the AMRI Hospital fire was being done and expressed his shock and grief over the tragedy which has so far claimed 90 lives.

"People come to hospitals for recovering their health and such an incident is very tragic and painful. I offer my sincere condolence for those who died and wish a speedy recovery of those injured in the mishap," said Mukherjee.

In the worst fire tragedy in any hospital in India, 90 patients and staffers were killed in the city's AMRI Hospital when a blaze engulfed its annexe building early Friday, trapping dozens of helpless patients.
