West Bengal: Three injured in blast while making bomb in TMC leader’s house

Locals arrived at the spot after hearing a loud explosion and found three wounded men in the under- construction house of Babu Mondal, a Trinamool Congress’ trade union wing leader.

Three persons were seriously injured in an explosion that occurred when they were making bombs in an under-construction house of a local Trinamool Congress leader in Burdwan district on Wednesday, the police said.

The incident occurred at Hariharpara village under Krishnadebpur panchayat in Kalna I block in the afternoon.

Locals arrived at the spot after hearing a loud explosion and found three wounded men in the under- construction house of Babu Mondal, a Trinamool Congress’ trade union wing leader.

The three - identified as Tanmay Malik, Uday Barik and Nabakumar Bag - were taken to Kalna Sub-divisional Hospital where their condition was stated to be serious.

Police said the house has been sealed while Babu Mondal was absconding after the incident.
