Chocolate brownie recipe by food creator Vavya – pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, walnuts, oats, protein powder for healthy fats, iron, zinc to support hair health.

In the endless scroll of wellness hacks, the boundary between dessert and dietary supplement continues to blur. Taking to Instagram on August 7, food and nutrition content creator Vavya introduced a sweet treat: a no-bake chocolate brownie formulated to support hair growth. "If you’re looking for a delicious way to nourish your hair from within, these brownies are for you!" she wrote, adding, "They’re packed with ingredients that provide nutrients known to support overall hair health."

When brownies meet nutrition

Unlike typical deserts that focus on aesthetic appeal over nutrition, Vavya’s recipe grounds itself in dense, nutrient-rich staples. She highlighted that the base relies on toasted pumpkin seeds, black sesame seeds, and walnuts — a trio rich in zinc, iron, omega-3 fats, and vitamin E, all designed to 'support healthy hair follicles and normal hair growth'. Yet, amidst the routine hype of social media nutrition, Vavya maintained a grounded perspective on expectations. "Remember, no single food can stop hair fall or magically grow hair overnight," she cautioned, adding, "Hair health depends on your overall diet, adequate protein intake, iron, zinc, sleep, stress levels, hormones, and any underlying medical conditions."

Because the treat blends concentrated seeds, nuts, and dark chocolate, she recommended moderation: “These brownies are nutrient-dense and calorie-dense, so enjoy 1-2 small pieces per day as a snack.” Also read | Try guilt-free, fudgy, gooey dark chocolate brownie recipe using clean ingredients

Ingredients for no-bake 'hair growth brownies'

⦿ Pumpkin seeds

⦿ Black sesame seeds

⦿ Walnuts

⦿ Rolled oats

⦿ Chocolate protein powder

⦿ Dark chocolate, melted

⦿ Peanut butter (for swirling)

Method

⦿ In a dry pan over medium heat, toast the pumpkin seeds, black sesame seeds, and walnuts until fragrant. Transfer to a plate to cool. In the same pan, lightly toast the oats and set aside.

⦿ Place the cooled seeds and walnuts into a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture breaks down and begins to release its natural oils.

⦿ Add the toasted oats, chocolate protein powder, and melted dark chocolate to the blender. Process until a thick, cohesive dough forms.

⦿ Press the brownie mixture evenly into a parchment-lined square pan. Dollop peanut butter over the top and use a skewer or toothpick to create a marbled swirl.

⦿ Refrigerate the pan for 3 to 4 hours until firm. Slice into small squares and serve chilled.
