In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, BJP’s Laxmi Narayan Yadav had defeated his Congress opponent Govind Singh Rajput by a margin of 120,737 votes.
This time around, the BJP had fielded Raj Bahadur Singh as its candidate from the Sagar Lok Sabha constituency against Congress’s Prabhusingh Thakur.
