When asked about the centre's support to the state government on development and other issues, Sibal said, "The central government is ready to support the UP government but you know what the centre expects in return".

A professor in Lucknow university, MK Agarwal, wanted to know why was the central government discriminating against UP in release of funds. Sibal replied that the central government was not discriminating against any state government.

To a student's query if the HRD ministry was mulling over an amendment in the technical education syllabus, Sibal replied, "Since the past two years I am working with the industry to bring about a modern syllabus. The central government is planning to change the engineering course syllabus and include vocational courses."
