A Dalit was beaten to death in an Uttar Pradesh village for allegedly stealing a watch, police said on Thursday.
Kothari (42) was on Wednesday beaten badly by Chunmun Patel, who suspected him of having stolen his watch, officer Yashveer Singh said.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection. The accused is absconding, he said.
