Yogi government supplementary demands of Rs 11,388 cr

The Yogi Adityanath government tabled its first supplementary demands for 2017-2018 that include Rs 519 crore for broadening/strengthening of roads and about Rs 750 crore for different needs of power sector in Uttar Pradesh.

The Yogi Adityanath government on Monday tabled its first supplementary demands of grant of Rs 11,388 crore for 2017-2018 that include Rs 519 crore for broadening/strengthening of roads and about Rs 750 crore for different needs of power sector in Uttar Pradesh.

Minister for finance Rajesh Agarwal presented the demands in the presence of chief minister Yogi Adityanath in the house.

A sum of Rs 84 crore has been earmarked for minority welfare schemes. This may be called a balancing act as the demands also a have a saffron tinge with Rs 40 crore sought for expansion and beautification of roads connecting Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi.

Rs 16 lakh has been demanded for holding All India Prize Money Men’s ‘Kabaddi’ competition in memory of late Mahant Avaidyanath, the guru of chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

Allocations have also been made for different schemes named after BJP ideologue Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay. These include Rs 580.95 crore for Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana, Rs 50 crore for Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Adarsh Nagar Panchayat Yojana and Rs 25.00 crore for holding treatment camps/fairs under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Vrahad Pashu Arogya Shivir. A token sum of Rs 1000 has been demanded for Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Khadi Vipdan (marketing) Vikas Sahayata Yojana.

An additional Rs 152.30 crore has been demanded for Poorvanchal Expressway (greenfield) project.

Rs 11.37 crore was sought for chief minister’s helpline. Rs 6.05 crore has been requested to give loan to UP Cooperative Spinning Mills Federation, Kanpur (Rs 3.45 crore), UP State Yarn Company Limited, Kanpur (Rs 1 crore), UP State Textiles Corporation, Kanpur (Rs 2.83 lakh) and UP State Spinning Company, Kanpur (Rs 1.31 crore).

Rs 49.92 crore was sought for installation of instruments to control air and water pollution in cooperative sector sugar mills. Rs 17.44 crore has been requested for various schemes of animal husbandry sector, including Rs 1.89 crore for animal census.
