26-year-old from Mumbai rapes former girlfriend, leaks her objectionable photos

The man, who also allegedly forced the woman for unnatural sex, is on the run.

A 26-year-old man is on the run after allegedly raping a woman and forcing her into unnatural sex at Vile Parle. He also leaked objectionable pictures of her to friends by uploading them on WhatsApp and the Internet, said the police.

According to an FIR, the man and the woman, who is in her 20s, had known each other since 2011. They were in a relationship and the man had proposed to marry her. On the pretext of marriage, he persuaded her to maintain sexual relationship even though she was unwilling, said an officer.

Last year, the woman broke up with him, which prompted him to send objectionable pictures of her to people she knew.

She registered a complaint in the last week of September. The police said it was not clear when he uploaded her photos.

The man has been booked for rape, unnatural sex and defamation charges. The police said a woman officer would lead the investigation.
