Amma supporters from Mumbai to pay tribute at AIADMK’s party office in Dharavi

Say they still can’t belive that death overpowered Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa’s will to live

As the entire country mourns the loss of Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, her supporters in the city would be congregrating at the party’s Dharavi office to pay last respects to their beloved leader.

Located along the 90-feet Road, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will witness hundreds of supporters offering the condolences. “We will keep a large photo outside our office from 11am. A small pooja has been organised, after which people can offer their respects throughout the day,” said Somasundaram, Mumbai president of AIADMK.

Somasundaram added that he would be leaving for Chennai once he completes pooja at the Sakhti Vinayaka temple in the locality.

“The entire night was a nightmare for us. We never thought that death would overpower her will to live. She was too strong to succumb to a cardiac arrest,” said Vinayaka Nagmani, an Amma supporter, adding, “Amma always thought of people and loved them. That’s what made her a great leader.”
