Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) has taken a tough stand against hawkersand has declared no-hawking zonesin the city .

Rajendra Nimbalkar UMC chief said “ the hawkers had been plying their business illegally and obstructing smooth vehicular movement. They had encroached some roads so badly that even pedestrians found it difficult to find their way hence, we have removed all the hawkers and declared hawking-zones in the city.”
In the wake of increasing the menace the corporation has planned and notified everyone, that starting from 28th November, Nehru chowk to Goal Road, Nehru Chowk to Aman talkies, starting from camp no.1 bus stop to Birla Gate till sahad Station, Nehru Chowk to Madhuban Chowk, and Nehru Chowk to central Hospital Road should be kept free for vehicular movement and that no encroachment or hawking is allowed on these roads.
The Corporation has also instructed that if any encroachment or hawker is found, their belongings would be confiscated and they will be fined for the violating the rules set by corporation.
The ward officials have been asked to keep an eye on these roads and initiate action if needed.
