Two weeks ago, Saeed’s wife, Yasmin, 24, suffered a stroke, which left her paralysed. Working around the clock, Saeed now takes care of his wife and children, along with trying to make ends meet.

The Bombay high court allowed a 17-year-old boy caught in a custody battle to pursue his dream of moving to America and attending Yale, Harvard or Princeton — all Ivy League colleges. The boy recently secured admission to one America’s top 10 schools.

3. Angry about Mumbai school fee hike? Give missed call, tell on WhatsApp: NGO to 22 L parents

After a low turnout at last month’s protest against fee hike, Mumbai parents have started a missed call and WhatsApp campaign to garner support for their agitation on May 21. The Forum for Fairness in Education, a parents and teachers body, plans to send bulk messages to 22 lakh parents across the city. A missed call campaign will start today. Parents can give a missed call on a number that will be released by the Forum by evening, to show their solidarity to the cause

4. Biker crashes into car on Mumbai flyover; 25-year-old pillion rider gets flung into air, falls 25ft, dies

A collision between two cars on the eastern express highway in Ghatkopar cost a 25-year-old riding pillion on a bike his life on Monday. Around 1am, two cars collided on the EEH, leading to a pile-up. A biker riding pillion with his friend rammed into one of the cars from the rear. Jolted by the impact, the pillion rider, Hashim Shaikh, got flung off the flyover, nearly 25ft down, and landed on the road below.

5. Husband, in-laws kill Mumbai woman 4 days after wedding; her severed head found

The Mumbai police have found the severed head of Priyanka Gurav, 23, who was allegedly murdered by her husband and in-laws four days after her marriage in Shahpur on the outskirts of Mumbai . The police had earlier arrested Priyanka’s husband, Siddhesh, 25, his parents -- Manohar, 50 and Madhuri, 48 --- and a friend Durgesh Patwa, 31, in connection with the murder.
