The MHB police registered a cheating case against a jeweller who had allegedly accepted gold worth ₹11 lakh from a Dahisar resident to make ornaments but failed to make them. He also allegedly did not return the gold to the victim.

The complainant, Hitesh Rasiklal Dhakan, 47, a resident of Dahisar (West), alleged that he knew the accused for a long time and had given him 3.70gram gold and 31.54gram alloy metal in June 2017. But the accused did not deliver the ornaments in two weeks as he had promised, said a police official.
Police are not revealing the name of the accused. Dhakan contacted the accused several times and asked him to return his gold but he did not return it. Finally, Dhakan contacted the MHB police station on Saturday and registered a case of cheating against the accused, police said.
Senior inspector Ashok Jadhav of MHB police station confirmed that an FIR has been registered as per the victim’s allegation and the accused has not arrested yet.
