Man breaks into doctor’s home, stays for two days

A man broke into the house of a doctor in Vasai West during Diwali and stayed in the house for two days as the doctor and his family had gone away for their vacation. He cooked food,slept in the master bedroom and watched TV. He was arrested after neighbours alerted us, police said. He was produced before the Vasai court and has been remanded in police custody till 3 November.

The man, identified as Nishad, entered Parijat bungalow in Shastri Nagar Vasai (W), belonging to Dr Prashant Padhye after the family had gone for their annual Diwali vacations.

Nishad slept in the master bedroom with the AC switched on full blast, watched TV and even cooked food for 2 days,said police inspector Anil Patil. Nishad broke into the house on the night of October 29, stayed in the bungalow for 2 days till 31 October. He even invited his friends over for 2 days, said Patil.

“We have arrested Nishad for theft and house trespassing. A laptop was recovered from him,” said the officer.
