Petrol pump dealers’ protest: No fuel from 7pm to 7.15pm today

A total of 54,480 petrol pumps are participating in the protest

As part of nationwide protest, petrol pumps dealers in Mumbai and Maharashtra will not sell fuel to motorists between 7pm to 7.15pm tonight.

For the demand of implementation of government order about dealer’s margin and other promulgated issues, Consortium of Indian Petroleum Dealers (CIPD) gave a nationwide protest call. A total of 54,480 petrol pumps, including 250 petrol pumps from Mumbai, are participating in the protest that will be carried out in four phases to put pressure on the government.

Ravi Shinde, leader of petrol pump dealers, said that next blackout protest will be on October 26, when the petrol pumps will remain non-functional for 15 minutes after 7pm. Thereafter there would be ‘no purchase fuel’ protestt, where in petrol pump dealers will not buy fuel from the oil companies on November 3 and November 4.

In the third phase, from November 5, dealers will operate the pumps in single shift between 9am to 6pm. If the issue remains unresolved, the petrol pump dealers will not operate the pumps on holidays and weekends from November 6, besides continuation of single shift operation.

Motorists from the city and the state are likely to suffer as the Federation of All Maharashtra Petroleum Dealers Association (FAMPEDA) has supported the nationwide protest.
