Gadoli encounter: Family takes body home

His family members had refused to take the body demanding action against Gurgaon cops involved in the fake encounter but they are likely to claim it on Thursday.

The family of gangster Sandeep Gadoli was in the city to claim his body, six months after the Gurgaon police shot him down at a hotel in Andheri.

The family had refused to accept his body earlier, demanding the arrest of the cop responsible for killing him.

Gadoli’s family received his body on Thursday evening, which they will be taking to Gurgaon on Friday morning to conduct his final rites.

Gadoli’s sister Sudesh, speaking to HT, said, “My mother is unwell in Gurgaon so we want her to see Sandeep’s body before his funeral.”

The SIT has been successful in arresting six persons that includes four policemen along with his girlfriend Divya Pahuja and her mother Sonia. Sudesh further said, “We are not happy with the SIT’s interrogations as they have not arrested Manoj Gujjar, who is the mastermind. The SIT has claimed that my brother had killed police sub-inspector Pradhyman’s brother in 1999 which is not true at all.”

The family alleged that Gujjar, brother of rival gangster-turned-municipal councillor Binder Gujjar, bribed the Gurgaon police to kill Gadoli.
