She said that the party’s equation with the BJP and its inconsistency in opposing the government had created confusion among party cadre and the public. The views were expressed by her in the executive committee meeting of the party held on Tuesday.

Her statement comes after the recent report that NCP is planning to join the NDA and she was offered a cabinet berth at the Centre.

Pawar had called the executive committee of the party to discuss its strategy on several issues such as the loan waiver, inflation, bullet train etc.

“There is confusion among cadres regarding the party’s equation with the BJP,” Sule reportedly said in the meeting. “This may be because of the inconsistency in taking on the government over various issues,” she added.

Sule’s remarks assume significance after reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had offered NCP to join NDA. She reportedly opposed the tie-up.

HT had reported that the NCP was looking at promoting Sule among its frontline leaders as it top leaders, including her cousin Ajit Pawar, are under scanner over charges of corruption.
