MUMBAI: A 22-year-old man accused of molesting a minor was beaten up by the survivor’s family a week ago. A video of the incident was circulated on social media on Sunday.

The survivor, who is in Class 11, was allegedly molested a few days ago by the accused, who is unemployed and is related to the minor, said the police.
The two live in the same locality, said the police.
The case falls within the jurisdiction of the Vasind police station in Thane (rural) in Shahpur district.
“The survivor lodged a complaint of molestation on October 12. We started investigating and searching for the accused. We found that he had been stalking the minor for the past few days,” said Anil Pawar, senior police inspector, Vasind police station.
The girl told the accused to stay away, but he did not listen.
On October 6, the girl was going to college when he was seen trying to talk to her.

{{/usCountry}}“The accused is still missing. His family has not approached us to lodge a complaint,” said the police.
