26/11 attacks ‘plotter’ Abu Jundal’s health worsens, in Mumbai hospital

Jundal, who is facing a series of criminal cases, has been on a fast from August 5, protesting against jail officials who have kept in solitary confinement.

“He was taken to the hospital in the morning, after his condition became worse. He has been on a hunger strike since August 5, protesting against the solitary confinement. We have moved the Bombay high court against prison authorities,” said Asif Naqvi, his lawyer.

Jundal had moved the HC on Wednesday, challenging the decision of prison authorities to keep in solitary.

Naqvi said while the petition was scheduled to come up for hearing on September 11, he will ask the court for an urgent interim relief for Jundal.

Jundal is currently facing trial in the 2006 Aurangabad Arms Haul case.

Jundal, a native of Beed in Maharashtra, was arrested following his deportation from Saudi Arabia in June 2012.
