Slamming activists and the media alike for the allegations made against him and the party, former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar aggressively defended his decisions to hand over land to Lavasa and BJP national president Nitin Gadkari on Sunday, the concluding day of the party’s conclave in Pune. “Do not get distracted or lose morale because of the allegations. Focus on strengthening the party in weak areas such as Mumbai and Vidarbha,” he advised the party cadre.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar called for a strategy to woo the non-Marathi-speaking voters, who he said would play a decisive role in electing representatives in 84 of the 288 Assembly seats in the state.
