The civic body has started training sessions on filling potholes to officers from outside the road department. It has also decided that each department should start filling potholes that result from its constructions.

On Wednesday, around 60 officers from hydraulic, storm water drain and sewage planning departments underwent a training session in Worli to get acquainted with the civic body’s new pothole tracking system. About 2,148 potholes have been found in the city till now, and this number is likely to rise once the monsoon sets in.

The administration is in the process of sorting the potholes according to each department’s construction activity. The contractors of the department concerned will have to fill potholes that have come up because of its construction works. Till now, the work of filling 25 potholes has been assigned to the SWD and 24 to the hydraulic department.
