The free online coaching classes organised by the state government for medical aspirants will take a few more days, state education minister Vinod Tawde said on Thursday.

In his statement to media last week, Tawde had announced special coaching for students via cable TV, Doordarshan, YouTube as well as a formal website in order to coach state board students, who will now have to appear for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). The aim was to use every medium possible to reach out to students in every part of the state.

“We have already prepared PPT [PowerPoint] presentations and the voice over for the video sessions for seven days are in place. Similarly, the website material has been approved and should be made public soon too,” said Tawde, adding that they are waiting for the final word from the Centre.
Following objections against the Supreme Court’s decision nullifying state-conducted entrance tests for admissions to medical institutes, officials from the Centre have given hints about the possibility of an ordinance deferring the implementation of NEET by a year being passed.
“Once we get a clear picture from the central government, we will go ahead with the online coaching. We also have a mobile application ready for the purpose. Either way, the process should begin in a couple of days,” said Tawde.
