A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court examined a panch witness on Wednesday in the 7/11 serial train blasts that killed 187 persons and injured more than 800 others in 2006.
The witness told the court that he was present at a
suburban hospital where a doctor had removed a metal piece from the body of a person injured in the blast at Borivli railway station.
“This witness was important, because according to the
chemical analysis report, traces of nitrate were found on the metal piece removed from the injured person’s body,” Special Public Prosecutor Raja Thakare said.
Special MCOCA Judge Y.D. Shinde is conducting the trial of 13 arrested accused allegedly belonging to Lashkar-e-Tayyeba (LeT) and banned outfit Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
