Parts of the island city will face water cuts on Monday. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has detected a major leakage in the Tansa West water mains, which needs to be repaired immediately. Hence, supply will be cut off from 10 am on Monday.

The pipeline supplies water to the Tardeo supply zone, which will be affected. According to the civic body, the leakage has been detected at the Slater Road and Nana Chowk junction.
The areas that will receive no water are Tardeo, Haji Ali, Tulsiwadi, Sane Guruji Marg and Slater road. It will also impact many institutions in the vicinity such as the BYL Nair Hospital, Kasturba hospital, Mahalaxmi railway station, the rail yard adjoining it and Mumbai Central and Grant Road stations.
A civic official from the hydraulic department said, “The leakage seems to be a major one since we detected it only after water was seen on the roads. The pipeline is about 15ft below the ground and it will take time to reach and fix it.”
