Re-exams of leaked engg papers on June 14, 16, 18

The re-exams will be conducted on June 14 (Math), June 16 (Physics) and June 18 (BEEE), the board of examinations decided at its meeting on Friday.

“The decision of conducting the re-exam was taken with a heavy heart after weighing all options,” said Naresh Chandra, pro vice-chancellor of the university. While more than 20,000 students appeared for the Maths and Physics papers, around 10,000 appeared for the BEEE paper.

The board of examinations has also decided to set up an unfair means enquiry committee that will look into the role of the accused students and decide on further punishment for them, if any. The board has also recommended suspension of the professors caught leaking papers and will be issuing them a show cause notice for them to explain why their approval should not be withdrawn.

The board has also decided at its Friday meeting to strengthen the use of technology in conducting exams and “developing strategies for the professional conduct of exams”.
