The external students (those who did not study in St. Xavier's for their junior college) can apply online till June 14.

The application process for the first-year degree courses at St. Xavier's was completely online this year. The admission list for in-house students was displayed on the college's notice board and website. But, the students will have to visit the college to fill the admission form and pay the fees. "We have become environmentally conscious and made our entire application process online," said Principal Frazer Mascarenhas.

While most of the students whose names appeared on the admission list on Thursday were allotted subjects they applied for, some were left disappointed. "I have been allotted Ancient Indian Culture but I hope after meeting the vice-principal tomorrow I will be given Psychology," said Rhea Kanthirao (17), who secured 69.67 per cent in her Class 12 examination.

Some others were disappointed at not seeing their names on the list. "My daughter's name is not on the list but the office has asked me to come tomorrow and assured me that the admission will be done," said Rita Lobo (48).

St. Xavier's has a total of 360 seats each in its first-year Bachelor of Arts courses and Bachelor of Science courses. Two hundred and sixteen names are on its in-house admission list for arts, while 170 are on the list for science.
